Culture and Civilisation is one of our core subject which teaches us about past histories and victories. Every era has been meticulously taught and vivid discussion has been entertained on the way the civilisations were composed and what drove them to their death. This subject is crucial to the architect-to-be as it teaches them the foundation itself upon which our society lies and the needs we will have to fulfill as an architect so as to satisfy the people.
Culture and Civilisation
A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.

Project One
The Family Tree
The first project was done as a group of two students. My peer and myself had to dig in the past of our respective families and look into up to five generations earlier to finally create a Family tree and a video. The project also required that we explained about one of our family traditions in a booklet, which Arthur Wilson and I did gladly.
The Family Tree was done by myself and was about my family while the video was done by Arthur. The family tree was to be a graphical timeline poster of A3 size.
The booklet was about the food culture in my family.
Reflection
This project gave us the chance to rediscover our links and origins and also gave a new insight upon what our ancestors did to make our lifes better. It made me feel like a kid again when my Grand-Pa used to tell me the stories of his father and grand-dad. This assignment gave us the opportunity of learning about the economical conditions which were not always good, to learn about the hard times my ancestors had to face and how they got back on their feet. It is with great pride that I learned about how they sustained their families and planned the future.
Project Two
The project Runway
The objective of this project is to examine the similarities and differences between Eastern and Western civilizations. We were assigned a movie for this project and as a group we had to reproduce some scenes from the movie.
This project is also divided into 3 parts.
Part 1: Timeline Research: We are to research and analyse the specific given timeline of the movies through books, and other available resources. Nothing should be spared in order to learn more about the movie. Elements such as the culture, social strata, architecture, and dressing are to be researched and included in the timeline.
With the reseach that we have conducted in mind, prepare a visual timeline. Select the most important plot from the timeline for our performance. The materials gathered are to assist us for our group and individual outcome.
Part 2: Individually, our task is to study the character chosen and show them in detail as that would demonstrate my own understanding of the chosen elements in Part 1.
Part 3: Final Submission as a group would be a showcase of us students' understanding of the timeline and the 10 minutes acting of the scene and the elements that are prominenet in the timeline. Submission as an individual would be a journal on the character in A5 size comprises of series of sketches, coloured, complete with annotations and design the packaging of our journals.

As The Queen Mary I was to make my own costume, the top was sent to a tailor who is a good friend of one of our groupmates and the skirt was done by myself.
The collar was made by me with the aid of lacey paper and matching lace. Paper Clips wasinserted on that day in the lacey ruffle collar so as to make it stand better and stand straight.
Below are the detais for the lace and the ruffles done to make it look more in the style of those times.
